I purchased an aftermarket front bumper and hood, took it to a shop I always have my work done at (much much cheaper and much more dependable guys), and had $$$ left over after it was all said and done.
If you're creative (though not ILLEGAL), you could really come out going "that sucked but man, wait an opportunity".

On a previous car, 1990 Nissan 240SX hatchback, it suffered extreme hail damage. I took it to a body shop and had them estimate the cost using the bondo method, replacing the hood, cutting the roof off and replacing it, and repalcing window trim. Then, I took it to a paintless dent repair. With the money I had left, I put in a power moon roof and bought 3 out of the 4 new wheels and tires I wanted! Basically, I got a moonroof and a new set of wheels and tires for the price of only ONE wheel!
IOW, this is an opportunity! It's not insurance fraud; it's just more efficient use of YOUR money.
