I tried a leafblower once and..well I live in a very hard water area so after I was done I had to go back over everything with a quick detailer. Looked like it had residue all over the car.

This was before I had a good coat of zaino on it though. Might give it a go again now that the water rolls off easier.

I have used the water blade with no problems on several cars even my G. The key is to make sure the car is very clean and to wipe the balde on a clean cloth even your pants after every pass to get any little pcs of dirt or grime off the balde. My prefered method is not to use a balde but to wash the car the rinse it, after that take the nozel off the hose and let the water come out of the hose in a gentle stream, start at the roof and work your way down. Most of the warter will "sheet" off you car and not bead. After that there is very little water left on the car, Just take a good waffel weave microfiber towl and wipe the car off. Works great and only takes about 10 minutes to dry the entire care if you take your time. There is so little water left on the car after the hose I never have to wring out the towl it will do the entire car.

Other people have used a leaf blower to blow away the excess water. It's actually a really good idea.

First of all....either you have a defective blade (some how resin got embedded in the silicone during manufacturing, or you did not clean the blade before you used it. I have used this blade all my life, on my previous black car...and on my current DG...

The only time this blade has caused me a scratch is when I don't pay attention to the cars body lines in conjunction to a wet/not so good grip of the handle and then for example I go straight down from the rear windshield to the trunk then the blades quickly gets stuck in the trunk line causing the handle to come crashin down out of my hands.

This is by far the best product I have ever used and all the people I know who use it never have complained. I would really check to make sure it wasn't a freak incident based on your environment such as you "power washing" then your dog near by kicked some dust up while trying to cover up a turd he just layed...or a burst of air came by and stuck small debree while the car was still wet...lots of factors, but the blade is certainly not one of them.

For everyone that told me that pressure washing will not clean the car you didnt read what i said. I said that I pressure washed it after cleaning it very well. Thanks everyone for your input, im sure it was my fault somehow in the end. Great tips though about the leaf blower and everything.

As for the cali blade, I've used it on all my cars (2 of which are black) and I always check for scratches after I use it and I never get any. I agree that there might have been some dirt or something stuck to it and got dragged along the paint. I always use a wet paper towel to wipe down the blade 1st.

+1 for the water blade. Been using ever since I got the car and no problems at all. Like everyone said, make sure your car is CLEAN before you use the blade.
