Noise when shifting into 1st.... Preventive thing?

Noise when shifting into 1st.... Preventive thing?
I bought the G last week and just learned how to drive stick. Being an idiot i am, i accidentally shifted into 1st as i was approaching a stop sign. There was this "shaking" noise as it was about to go into gear. Atooraya (local member) said it was actually a mechanism that prevent you to get into first gear. I am kinda worry since this is my baby.

it's something built into the system that says you have low blinker fluid
