taking G in for Tranny

OK...this 6sp is getting worse. First I thought it was just me...but now it's become more common.

If I drive like a granny, it shifts nicely. Get on it and it sometimes grinds going from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd....and often times very difficult to get from 5th to 6th.

Anything I should say or not say when I take it in? 10K miles...hasn't been back to the shop since new. Got a issue with the drives window too...it doesn't go down far enough and sometimes rattles real bad when closing.

thanks!

well...dropped it off the morning. Got a !*&% dodge Stratus to drive! Guess they were out of loaners! this sucks. if I get lucky and they want to drop a new tranny in it...it's gonna have to wait until next week. I am not driving this thing all weekend! I told them I want mine back at the end of the day, and if it needed something that took longer it would have to wait until next week.

guess i need to be a little more rough with it. I'll make sure it goes out before the warranty is up. 90K miles to go.

You need to take them out for a drive. Make sure you can simulate the problems you've been having while they're in the car...The stealership should know that these cars have had a problem with the transmission...Many have been replaced under warranty.

The rough 1-2 and 2-3 shift seems to be normal. At first I thought I had the same problem until I drove a 350z with bad syncros.... whoa!!!! that was rough and noisy.... I know we get a click every now and then going into gear. But his clicking never went away. Even after you were already in the gear. Needless to say he got a new trany.... and the new one feels just like mine. So i guess I'm okay.... for now

I just got mine replaced. It grinded when I did a quick shift over 4k rpm. I was afraid they were saying I was abusing the car, but nope. The SA took the car for a test drive and called me and said my car was getting a new tranny and clutch plate.

well...it doesn't always do it, and when it did it was always when doing a quick aggressive shift. I tried to get it to do it again yesterday and wasn't able. if it's got a problem, I am sure it will get worse. Once I get where I can make it do it consistently....I'll take it back. They were pretty cool about it, and they agreed that these things have tranny issues.

thanks.

Pretty sure my synchros are goin' bad too. Gonna have to schedule an appt to take the car in. Hopefully they'll be able to find the problem, and won't try to pawn it off on my CAI or plenum...lol...
