Questions for DIY Oil Change People

Re: Questions for DIY Oil Change People
Thanks for the tips everyone. I'm not a gearhead in the least but these tips make it seem doable. After my brother brought his car to Toyota for an oil change and they didn't tighten the oil filler cap!
I always have anxiety attacks about bringing my car to the dealership for an oil change not to mention the whole money thing.
Those ramps from Griots Garage are only 55.00 with the extensions and doing it yourself will make up for that. I think I'll give it a shot after the next 3750 miles.

Ramps scare me!
It usually isn't convenient to get someone to "spot me" when I drive up them. With my previous car, I drove off the end of them twice. It didn't cause any damage on that car, but with the G's splash guards behind the front wheels, it would be a much different story. Unfortunately, I can't find a good place to insert jack stands while the side jack is in place without assuring that I don't damage something on the underside of the G. Can anyone tell me where's a safe place to put the jack stands? Also, if I use a rolling floor jack, where is a good place under the G to put it?
P.S. In case someone is considering replace their own brake pads, it can't be done with the wheels on ramps, and it isn't safe to rely on the floor jack only.
P.S.S. If I remember correctly, I think the first oil change at Infiniti is free.
Thanks for any replies.
