Coupe Rolling By Itself
After having a car roll out of the garage and across the street im always sure the e-brake is on. It's what it's made for! Using the E-Brake when you park is like using the steering wheel when you drive.
Park
After having my first car roll downhill on an E-brake, I learned to always leave it in 1st or Reverse. No damage was done but it was enough for me to learn the lesson. Better safe than sorry.
As you see, neither a Gear or e-brake give you 100% assurance, but together they work 100%.

Is it bad to always use your e-brake everytime you park? It makes sense to use it on a hill but is it really neccessary for a level road? On top of that I've never learned too much about parking in Neut or 1st and never heard of reverse until this thread but i've always put my e-brake as well as first gear.... what's better.. 1st or reverse?
Oh, and for you track guys... don't use the parking brake right after a hot lap! Let the brakes cool before you use it or else you'll get warping. Well, that's on systems that use the calipers to apply the parking brake. Does the G use the calipers or a separate small drum inside the rotor like some Corvettes?

To answer your question though, your clutch isn't slipping. It's your engine compression that doesn't stay constant. Don't worry, that's normal. Rings don't seal 100%, so air slowly leaks by as pressure is put on the piston due to your transmission being in gear with the car on a slope.
Oh, and I was always told that reverse is the steepest gear ratio, so if you want to keep your car from moving it's probably the best gear to leave it in. Does anyone know if that's true with the G35 trans?

I am also curious to know if the G uses the caliper for the e-brake? After i drive hard if i park on a flat surface i just leave the car in first and dont engage the parking rake at first to avoid warping. If I will be parking on a slope i just let the car sit on a flat surface to let the brakes cool a little bit.
