Like I said earlier, there will be markups on this car with the limited production. It will be like trying to find an s2000 at MSRP in it's first year. Look for markups in the 4 to 6k range.

I'm betting that a G35 Coupe could take the SRT-4 through the corners though. That money that dodge saves on the sticker price in those cars has to come from somewhere. I'm betting it corners like a turd and has that all-too-infamous Neon rental car interior.

Also, it's still a neon.

 

It's supposed to have a very minimalist interior but with racing seats. I do bet the cornering will be average at best. But, damn is it ugly.

hell, if you turboed the Nissan sentra SE-R v-spec like the SRT, then you'd be getting at least 240 horses, and loads of tourqe. Youd blow the doors rite off those neons for sure. Id take a SE-R vspec over a neon ANYDAY

i seriously give props to dodge for turbo charging a neon..the neon started to grow on me when the new model came out and cmon who hates turbo power? even tho im gonna get a G35c soon the neon looks entertaining in its own way

I never considered buying the Neon but have to admit it is a heckuva bang for the buck. A Neon purchaser can use the logic we do in comparing the G to an M3, and for the $18,000 in savings they could erase a lot of the shortcomings. Yeah, it would still be a Dodge but my point is that we may want to resist any of the BMW snobbery creeping into our thinking. I am a car guy first, and as G35Coupe fan second. Just my pov.

 

I live in Austin and there is an amazing road that winds it way through the hill country just south of my house. We had a nice sunny 70 degree day after weeks of rain so there were lots of joy riders out. Lots of twists and turns, beautiful secenery and nice rolling hills. I had just picked up my Coupe, Black on Black/performance tires/loaded/auto so I was out having some fun. I smoked an Eclipse and to my suprise took a newish Mustang GT. I am not a huge mustang fan but I thought the new GTs had a pretty stout V8. It seemed like the guy was pushing it but I pulled away from him all the way up to about 115 MPH. I played around with a 3 series a bit to. He came up fast from behind but I hit it and pulled away. I kept him in my rear view mirror so I don't know if it was a 325 or a 330. I am assuming a 325. Not only is this thing fast you can not get it to slip through a corner. I don't care how hard you throw yourself in to a turn the dam thing grips. Think about this to. The Mustang COBRA up until 97 only did 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. The G Coupe is right there with it in the straight aways and will take it handly throught the turns. I have a friend with a 97 Cobra who is coming to town so we can race that same road. I think they are going to be in for a not-so-pleasant surprise. Same with my friend who has a 98 Boxster that goes 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. Same with the Lexus SC430 or Jag XK8. Again, they are dead on in the straight aways but the G35 Coupe puts up better skidpad numbers. Should be fun.

 

heh yeah mustangs are so slowwwww for their engine size but they sound so dam nice, great job on the exhaust note for ford, if only they can do the same with the engine's performance/reliability

 

CoupeSport32, try 1431 to Marble Falls. When you get to Marble Falls, grab a bite to eat at the Blue Bonnet Cafe. I used to like Lime Creek Road, but local residents are starting to ambush the apexes by throwing gravel and oil in the way. Cops are bad there too. 2222 is also a good place for twisties. Enjoy that G Coupe! Wish I had one...
