Need Help Asap!!!!!!

alright heres my story: i had race pipes put in my car at north shore auto in li(was recommended by someone on the forums, never going back there, the owner is a priick). so i decide i dont like how they sound with my exhaust, and dont wanna go back there to put in crawford cats. i bring my car to a serivce manager of a subaru dealership(knows his stuff, is always tuning stis and wrxs, makes show winners for the dealership) and he tells me whoever put these 02 sensors in these race pipes either didnt use anti-freeze or put them in too tight. he doesnt even wanna try because hes worried about screwing up the thread on $160 02 sensors. i call up north shore and they tell me they feel im disloyal to them as a costumer and all this other crap so going back to them is not an option. i bring my car to another mechanic and he takes off the 02sensor, NO THREAD LEFT.

long story short, i need 2 new 02sensors, anyone have any ideas???? besides paying the $320 for 2 new 02 sensors???

Sorry to hear that.....It really sux when people/mechanics are incompetent. They should use anti-seize on all aluminum threads/sensors etc. I would bitch at the place that originally did the work, they do guarantee their work? If they didn't use the anti-sieze, its their fault.......I wouldn't let them get away with it.....and thats BS about loyalty, your free to pick and choose whoever/wherever to work on your car.....its your money don't forget that............
Good luck

thanks. i found a couple of sites selling O2 sensors, dont think i wanna pay the 160. http://catalog.buyautoparts.com/meri...=Oxygen+Sensor
most sites have them for 100 but theyre not the stock O2 sensors, theyre bosch, but that should be good enough. the only problem is a lot of them dont have the drivers side O2 sensor in stock, anyone have an idea why???

I would take thoes ^&#holes to small claims court. Document everything and request the reimburse you for the damaged O2 sensors and installation charges.

Good luck

FYI, Bosch makes our VDC modules and I'd bet that they make our oxygen sensors as well. I wouldn't hesitate for a second on getting those to save $60 a piece.

i'd love to have these guys pay for them but theres really no way to prove they were the cause. the thread wasnt damaged when they installed my race pipes, but is now after i tried to remove it, they claim i took my car to some kind of cheapo shops where "the mechanics werent as good as theirs". looks like i'm going to be going with the bosch, only problem is no one seems to have the drivers side in stock. OH AND ONTOP OF ALL OF THIS THE THREAD ON MY RACE PIPES IS RUINED so it looks like thats trash along wit hthe 02 sensors, thats 300 dollars down the drain. maybe its time to give modding a break
