When I turn mine off, its off. Even through wild donuts and crazy high RPM clutch drops. LOL, just a thought... VDC wont always save you when its ON. I still managed to totally lose my car in a turn (fishtailed... jumped off the throttle... fishtailed the other way... bye bye pavement) luckily there were no cars around. But boy was VDC trying its best to get me right again. The "slip" light, "abs" light... "you ****ed up" light... all of them were flashing.

 

Yeah , im surprised infiniti hasnt gotten sued yet by someone. In an attempt to cross a road quickly with VDC on , you hit a bump , your car lags and the semi that was far away destroys your car. I hate VDC, all it does is take away the attitude of manual

 

VDC has done this to me when I was trying to make a quick left turn, luckily I didn't get hit. I only find it a problem in ideal road conditions, however on a slippery road its extremely useful.

You can pull out a fuse to "turn it off completely" But you really take a big risk next time it rains. It doesn't take much to send the car into a 360 in the middle of traffic on a rainy day with everything off. Don't just take my word for it just do a search for "I totaled my G" threads.

To turn VDC completely off:

1) Turn off VDC

2) Start doing some donuts or drift around for appx 20 seconds.

3) You will notice the VDC and Slip light come on and stay on.

4) Now your VDC is completely OFF!

You can drift the vehicle, power slide and do donuts much easier with VDC Completely Off versus the pseudo-Off. You will also get into trouble a lot easier without VDC since high torque RWD can be a handful to the newbies. I found this out by accident at a drifting/driving school while doing the figure 8 exercise. I wish there was a easier way to completely turn off the system though, as I can't really do donuts on the streets or on the track before I go out on a run.



Play it safe, I've read too many "I crashed my car, and my VDC was off" stories on this board and the 350Z board.

After talking to some guys that go drifting. If you go in your engine bay. In the corner closest to the driver's seat you'll see a silver box with hard lines coming out of it (part of the brake system). If you pull the electrical plug coming out of the box, it'll kill the traction control, stability, abs, everything. You'll be free to spin tires and lock them up even if you want. When you're done, just plug the wire back in and restart the car. I've used this trick on the skidpad before and it worked great!

would be cool if the switch was mounted somewhere on the steering wheel for quick turn off, im sure it could be done
