how to turn vdc off completely?

You can drift the vehicle, power slide and do donuts much easier with VDC Completely Off versus the pseudo-Off. You will also get into trouble a lot easier without VDC since high torque RWD can be a handful to the newbies. I found this out by accident at a drifting/driving school while doing the figure 8 exercise. I wish there was a easier way to completely turn off the system though, as I can't really do donuts on the streets or on the track before I go out on a run.
Play it safe, I've read too many "I crashed my car, and my VDC was off" stories on this board and the 350Z board.

You should be aware that the car will record the VDC fail-safe engaging (when it turns totally off and wont come back on until you restart the car) in the computer.
You can deny that you did this to your dealer if it ever comes up but just so you know...

The problem I have with VDC is shifting into second gear. I'll zoom it up a bit in first to pass someone and shift into second quickly and VDC puts the brakes on. Usually it's not a good time to put the brakes on. It doesn't happen all the time, but after happening twice, I got tired of it. If I turn VDC off, it doesn't happen.
I usually turn VDC off if it's a nice day (not raining, or looking like it's going to rain).
I don't use a chip to keep the VDC off, because if I forget about it, I want it to be on.

Okay.....truth time now. VDC is pretty much off when you turn it off. However, to get it completely off, you have to pull the fuse. When I mean completely off, btw, I mean you've got nothing. Now with the fuse still in, yes, you can do donuts. However, seeing as Infiniti was smart, they made it so that the VDC programming became active if you were on the brake. Makes sense, to not want to slide if you're on the brakes. Thats why, if you are about to spin, try braking (in a large unenclosed area). VDC will come back online and will most likely save your a**. I wish I had known that before my accident. This is also why you can't do a brakestand in the G.

I know the ABS still work because I tried it with my G. there is black box under the seat heater switch(you'll have to take off the panel in order to see it) with "bosch" sticker on it. Thats the VDC box and just unplug it. you'll know when you disable it completely. the "slip" light will stay on. I seen some people make a switch there to completely turn it off.
well I did what Sukairain said to do. I went to a big *** parking lot last night, I turned off vdc and did one big dounts (it wasent not even near 20secs) but the slip light came on and it stayed on and the RAS light came on (rear active steer), when I looked it in the booklet it sayed that if that light comes on it means it has malfunction and Rear Active Steer is off. I dident have a chance to try to do some drifts, because the roads were still pretty busy. But the car felt a little looser. When I got home I turned off the car and let it sit for a few minutes and turned it back on and the RAS light and Slip was gone. At first I got scared that I broke something when the RAS light came on but it just disabled the 4wheel steering.
One thing do, as soon I got done doing dounts, the clutch pedal was kinda stuck all the way down, and I had to stick my foot under the clutch pedal and pop it up. It did that before when I try to do burn outs but it would just get stuck for a moment and it would slowly come up. But this time I had to stick my foot behind it and pop it out. I could shift gears and it was going into gear just fine. Has this happend to anybody???
Thanks
Mahdi
MahdiG, I can't comment on the RAS issue since my car is no equipped with rear active steering. As far as I know, once you restart the car, VDC should be back on and everything should be normal. (no warning lights) The difference should be obvious when you attempt slide or drift manuvers.
However, I remember when I got my car dynoed one time, the slip/vdc light came on as well and restarting the car didn't make them go away. When this happens, just do the ECU reset and everything should be fine.

Note on what WhiteG35C's option: Becareful which box you unplug. The airbag sensor on the G35C is right under the center console. I didn't want to mess around in that area as I was afraid if I pulled the wrong wire, I'd get smacked in the face by the airbag.

In the center console the Bosh sensor is the Yaw control. When the computer cannot read signals from this sensor it shuts VDC, stability control and the anti spin stuff off. It leaves the ABS fully usable.
If you unplug the wires by the brake system under the hood you loose ABS in addition to the other stuff.
If you unplug the fuse on the passenger side of the car, under the hood, that says VDC you loose the ABS in addition to the other stuff.
Anyone who takes their car to an autocross can easily tell the difference when everything is off. You have full control of the car instead of fighting various computer overrides.
I vote for pulling the plug on the Yaw sensor under the center console. Just plug it back in after the event and all is well. I have been doing this for the past two years without any problems. It takes about 2 minutes to do.
