2005 Squeak and Rattle TSB

Finally, a TSB for some of our rattle woes. It only covers the clock area, the center console, and the dash air vents. I'm not sure about what others think, but I'm not completely satisfied with the air vent fix. I have that problem, and that lubricant sounds like a temporary fix to me.

Good luck!

Well, how about that? This is a decent start! I know this won't solve everything but at least they acknoledge it and have some fixes.

hmmm, 3m spray that stains carpet and stinks like hell, into a vent (or near a vent).. what could possibly go wrong there? : / Personally, I think opening it up and using some thick grease would last much longer, work better, and you wouldnt smell like a gas station every time you used your AC for 2 months after the fix.

I think if the tech is careful, it wouldnt be that bad. There in lies the rub.

thought i'd update this thing. bought the 3m yesterday and tried it out on my driver's vent area. followed the same procedure listed in the tsb. drove the car around and the ticking is still there. either it doesn't work or the ticking is coming in from another area regarding my car (where? i have no clue). no smell or residue from the 3m. but imho... save your money and have the dealer deal with the rattle. i've made an appointment for next week to get this crap fixed. cheers.
