Hi,
Noticed this today. Specs: 2005 6mt 5,300 miles
Problem: Now that I’m driving more “fuel friendly” I’m shifting around 2300 for a good part of the day. This morning I noticed a weird buzzing sound (NOT ABS Check) each time the rpm’s climbed to 1900-2000. This happens in any gear. I’m going to try later just revving the car in neutral slowly to see if it happens. It seems to happen mostly when the car has just been started, goes away after the first 2-3 miles. Any idea? If this continues I’ll schedule and apt with the dealer.

I think I have the same sound, but it's probably normal. It sounds like the exhaust rubbing againt a heat shield or something while it expands.

 

My car makes the same exact sound. I only noticed it a couple weeks ago and haven't had a chance to bring it in to see exactly what is going on. THe sound also happens when it's idling right after I start the car up when it's been sitting overnight. The sound is definately noticable outside and quite a bit louder.

I wish I knew exactly what it is.

 

Just came back from a nice drive. Had my brother in the car, we both heard it loud and clear, right at 1900 -2000 any gear. BUT not in neutral. I'm gonna schedule an apt w/ the dealer this week. Keep ya posted
