I do the opposite for the simple reason that there's always driver, but not necessarily a passenger.

OK mr perfect, how bout this; Even when I am parked next to a POS I am still carefull to not touch that POS!

If you park your car in such a way that you take up two spaces on a very crowded lot, you are asking for trouble. Some pissed off guy who had to park on a distant lot may retaliate.
