Warranty or Not?

Yesterday I'm driving home about 80 km per hour and I hear noise like a stone rattling in a pop can. I get home (5 min later) get out of the car, and I can smell coolant. After checking my car out for about 20 min I find there is a hole in my rad on the engine side near the top. Looks like something hit it. There are no marks on the outside of the rad behind the grill and no coolant leaking from that side. It looks like something came loose under the hood, hit the fan and punctured the rad. There is coolant all over the front of the engine and belts, should the belts be replaced or will they be ok? My car is 3 months old an has 7,000 km on it. What do you guys think is it warranty or not.

Nearest Infiniti dealer is 100 km away but we have a local Nissan dealer. If this is not a warranty repair I'll use the Nissan dealer or a local rad shop.

Thanks in advance for any help and opinions.

Re: Warranty or Not?

take it to infiniti. tell them the FACTS:
noise, coolant smell, leak, etc.

Not speculation about what you think happened. That is their job.

I can't see why they would not cover that repair under warranty. If for some reason they don't, and claim a foreign object caused the damage, make a claim with your insurance.

Re: Warranty or Not?

You were right on redwillow took my coupe in this morning, dealer call this afternoon told me they couldn't find what caused the hole and told me it would have a new rad in it by tomorrow night. Fixed under warranty.

Thanks again

PS

the dealer also had the brake light switch recall work done without me even asking. Kinda nice to see them do this on their own.
