i recommend Borla True catback dual exhaust. Its quiet at idle and when your on the highway, but when you get on it, it sounds oh so beautiful! You can get one for around $650-$750
Its good for 15-25 RWHP

As far as intake goes, i'd recommend Injen as of now....im still waiting for K&N to release their CAI, as well as nismo (the 350Z nismo intake is already on the market)
These CAI's are generally good for 5-10 RWHP

Now, Borla Headers are good for another 20HP if you can afford those, i believe they are $700 or so

Go to that site it has information on most of the part out for the G. Also u might wanna look at the 350Z section on that site cuz the exhaust for the 350 can be easly modified to fit the G35. I personly think the Stillen catback exhaust is the best one

do a lot of people have problems with the ingen intake because of water getting in it? plus does the borla exhaust look like the stillen which looks almost like stock?

Re: WHAT EXHAUST AND INTAKE SHOULD I GET??

from what i hear the injen has no more problems and water never was an issue it had to do with people using the automatic intakes on there manual G's. From what i have read the Borla has not been getting as good preformence resalts as abertised. it sounds great but laks the preformence. Some people have dyno at little as 7 more HP. The new Injen ehuast has dynod at 17+ rwhp and with the intake it has dynod at 23+ rwhp. It is for the 350 though but could easly be modded to fit the G coupe.

Nah bud I don't got proof.. Well I can probably do a search and find Injen's Dyno's or I'd check out the site.. They were claiming 14 hp on their dyno alone just on the intake...

As for Borla I keep hearing anywhere from 15 to 20hp and with Borla Headers it would be around 25 total (exhaust + headers)... but I'm not even sure man.. I just keep hearing most people say that around this forum....

Wish I had a dyno of the exhaust and header's too.. I'm kinda curious as well....

Re: WHAT EXHAUST AND INTAKE SHOULD I GET??

I personally don't trust 90% of the dynos that are posted because they're either posted by the manufacturer, in which case I call that "Absolute best case scenario," or they have no baseline, or were tested very far apart.

I've seen 350Z guys report Dyno numbers that differ by almost 25 hp BONE STOCK. This is due to elevation differences, dyno differences, temp differences, and lastly, car differences, And there's no real way to even it all out and find an exact car baseline. The manufacturers aren't going to post dyno gains that are 100% fake, but they aren't going to post gains that are "average" either. They can claim that their intake/exhaust makes 30 HP if they can produce -1- valid dyno run that does it. That's far from real-world.

Until someone can get -1- dyno machine somewhere, and someone can bring 5 BONE STOCK coupes in, test all 3 for a baseline, then add -1- modification to all 5, and retest, I won't be putting too much weight in ANY dyno results. Even then, you've got to account for the ECU, and very few people understand how that works.

That being said, Injen claims this, Stillen claims that, Borla claims something else. Don't buy based on the numbers alone. Can you really feel 7 HP anyway? That's like 2.5% of your total HP.

I bought the Borla. Here was my logic...True duals are going to flow better than a single (aka stock) 2 paths are better than one most of the time. The old formula for power is more air in, more air out, so that covers some of the out part, although obviously not the whole equation. I chose Borla because I loved the sound, not too raspy or ricey, but clearly not stock. I chose Borla because I have a full Borla system on my Wrangler, and I've had it for almost 6 years now, and I still love the sound. It's provided a definate improvement over stock based on my personal opinion, and to me, that matters more than a dyno. I figure if I buy a good product once, that's one more good product than I've bought from someone else.

90% of the dyno posts just aren't truely scientific enough to really show what a mod is likely to do on your car. They will show what a mod CAN do, but there's no way to tell if that's high, low, or average.

Re: WHAT EXHAUST AND INTAKE SHOULD I GET??

I would recommend the injen after seeing it on my friends 350Z. He has the intake and exhaust combination which complement each other. Supposedly puts him at about 300+hp. But power aside, i looks beautiful and sounds deadly.

Re: WHAT EXHAUST AND INTAKE SHOULD I GET??

As an owner of the Borla true duals, Borla headers, and Injen intake I would say that this combination is indeed very nice. However, I believe it is up to you to decide whats within your price range and to what taste you like the exhaust to sound. Am I going to recommend the current setup I have? Sure, it's great for the price (compared to others), feels as though it is a bit peppier off the line and throughout up until redline, and sounds great IMO. Would I have gone out and bought all these parts if I didn't get them for free? In my case, I would have to say no as I am limiting my funds for things other than mods for an already powerful car. However now that I have a few mods on, I feel an addiction to get more mods.....if only I had more money.
