front license plate fix it ticket

Some cop had to meet his quota and pull me over for a fix it ticket on Wilshire in mid-city. Anyways, i was wondering if anyone knew how to put the front plate on so it is easy to take off after I get the ticket signed off by a cop? Suggestons please.

buy a license plate bracket that attaches where the tow hook does - this way you just screw it on with no holes in the bumper.

There's posts about using those black binder clips. You basically take off the tow hook cover and clip on the 3 edges. Some people do this permanently, but this is the easiest cost effective temporary solution.

I got the same ticket. Binder clips work well. Just make sure you use bolts to attach to the license plate frame; the cop was giving me a hard time cuz I used zip ties. The bolts that came with my frame were a little too long, so it's probably best to pick up some at a hardware store.

Go to the police station and go inside. They're too lazy to get up and go out to check. They'll just sign it and you'll be on your way.

I dont know where you live, but here in NJ they dont check or anything. Are you sure it has to be signed off that it was repaired?

I just payed it once (54$) and never even thought about putting it on. Totally kills the look of the car.

Did you just have it hanging on the dash or something?

Try this one. It's kinda pricy at $63.00, but cops will leave you alone. And you can put it on and off anytime. It actually attaches on the tow hook screw.

Pls note: THIS FITS THE 04-05 G35 STOCK FASCIA WITH A 22MM TOW HOOK THREAD DIAMETER ONLY!!!

SoCal question - Would placing the license plate between the windshield and the dash be considered okay?
I once got a parking ticket for no front plate but I wasn't required to prove I fixed it.

No thats probably even worse IMO beacuse:

1- It immediately shows and reminds them its in the wrong place and you have a much better chance of them busting you on that.

2- It also immediately shows them you are from that state. A lot of times they will just pass without even noticing, and if they do notice they have to see you from both the front and rear clearly to see that your rear plates are from that state (since if you are out of state, you cant get a ticket like that)

3- Maybe a bit precautious, but a safety hazard if you were to stop short and have it go flying into someone in the car, but even more likely scratch up the interior.

If anything, maybe keep it somewhere in your car if you are that worried about it, and throw it on your dash and play ignorant if you get pulled over and the cop asks about it. Atleast that way you have a better chance of the cop letting you off.
