Maybe it varies by Dealer, but my Dealer offers a free oil change at 1500 miles. The only negative is that you have to wait for the work to be done since a loaner isn't provided with the free oil change. It certainly wouldn't hurt to change oil frequently for the first 5K miles or so while the engine is still being broken-in. I look at it as cheap insurance that may help to promote engine longevity. I say may because my son has been changing the oil on the G20 I gave him about every 8K miles and he has well over 200K miles on the engine. When I gave him the car, it only had only 80K miles on the odometer.

I changed mine at 2k for the first time. It will be every 3K from now on.
