Coupe seatbelts

Re: Coupe seatbelts
Seat doesnt bother me because it rub my neck. I'm only about 5'7" and have no problem with it. the only problem i have is when i take my seat belt off, it seems to hit side of the door right under the window. i'm beginning to notice some small nicks in that area too. Now i have to take great caution while just taking my seat belt off. Anybody else notice this?

Re: Coupe seatbelts
One other little bit of advice. When initially putting the seatbelt on, pull it out even further than you need. Then when you buckle it into place it will have a little bit of slack which won't be as confining. Periodically during driving, you can do the same thing... pull it out from it's retracter and slowly let it back. Over time, I'm getting used to it. Also, it is important to have a shirt on with a collar to give some additional comfort. With regards to the post about the fellow that experiences his door getting nicks from releasing the seatbelt.....it's true. I guess you just have to be gentle with taking the belt off. This sure is a delicate car! Seatbelts nicking door, scratches on kicksill plate, scratches on console, sratches on paint.... Maybe we should wear surgical gloves while driving! But I still love the G!

Back from the dead.
It's now July 05 and I just purchased my coupe. I too am having issues with my stupid seat belt rubbing against my neck. So 2 years later and it seems, to me at least, Infiniti didn't make any revisions to help with this. Anyone else in a newer coupe experiencing this nagging problem as well?

Yep. The damn seatbelt is killing me too!! I have tried all seating positions and it doesn't help. I am so fed up that I am about to sell the car. Anyone interested in a '04 with only 5,500 miles?
The design of the rest of the G is fanastic. I just can't believe they don't have the adjustable belt like most cars do.

You know, right before I wen to the movies yesterday, I stopped by Walmart and picked up some light grey faux suede seat belt cushions for $5 a piece. I put them on, and I have to tell you, it's the best damn $10 bucks I have ever spent in my life!!! No more chaffing, cutting, rubbing, and the fact that the gray matches my stone interior perfectly, has made this the perfect car.

I am happy to see its not just me. There are times where its trying to choke me or if I get comfy enough so its not killing me I cant reach back and grab the belt. How could infiniti not know about and fix this? Everyone that gets in my car the first thing they mention is "sweet ride" the second is "your seatbelt is horrible"

I have the same problem in my '05 -- 5'7" woman. It's like the edge of the belt wants to saw a groove in my neck! I'm always pulling it down across my upper left arm, but then I can't move my left arm or it pops right back up to my neck again. Maybe if I had any discernible chest padding the belt would find somewhere else to rest besides the side of my neck.
I have the seat in its lowest position and rather far back as I have longer legs. Very annoying and distracting. I don't usually wear tops with collars, either.
