Coupe seatbelts

Is anyone else driven nuts by the seatbelt rubbing their neck in the drivers seat? Is there a fix for this?

Jason

A seatbelt extension worked great!! I believe Grubbs infinity has them, simulate the extensions effect by clipping the seat belt at your waist before you buy the extension, see if that works for you.

Re: Coupe seatbelts

YES!!!! This is my MAJOR complaint of the coupe's seatbelt...rubs my freakin neck!!! Arghhhhh! I went to an Auto parts store like Kragen or Napa and bought a seatbelt adjuster. The brand was Master Design....2 in a pack.
It's an okay fix, but not the best solution as it sorta pulls up on the belt......feels sorta funky. Ideal would be for an additional extension on that plastic piece that sticks up at the top of the seatbelt pull.

Send me $3 bucks and I'll mail ya ny extra one. lol

Me too. I usually wear golf shirts and put the belt under the collar which helps some. I'm 5'7". I've thought about adding a sheepskin pad but wouldn't want one unless it was black like the rest of the interior. Seems they're usually beige (natural) colored.

My number 1 complaint on my coupe too.. I'm 6' and I'm constantly pulling it off my neck. I did find a black felt pad at target.. helps a bit (but keeps the belt from retracting all the way.. which looks like crap when).

Re: Coupe seatbelts

I have that same exact problem. It was so bad that I brought it to the dealership. They wouldn't fix it and said that no one else had the problem. I called Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they said they never heard the complaint either. I'm 5'6" and it hurts like heck.

It really sucked though because the G35 sedan loaner they gave me had seatbelts that felt like heaven compared to my coupe's rubbing belts. Until more people call their dealerships or ICA I guess I just drive in major discomfort.

Re: Coupe seatbelts

I really believe it is not only a comfort but a safety issue. In my Lexus manual. [My G's is being transported to CA now = no car/manual for 1 week]. The seatbelt is supposed to rest a little over your shoulder bone and definitely not near our adam's apples. The seatbelt pad would take care of the comfort aspect, but does not solve my concerns about safety.

Cars like GMs or the Lexus SC430 have straps or brackets on the seat to guide the seatbelt. I honestly don't know why Infiniti can't [or won't] do the same for our G35Cs.

Re: Coupe seatbelts

I am kinda suprised that Infiniti didn't incorporate the adjustable seat belt height adjuster (on the B-pillar) on these cars. Hell, even my 99 Maxima had one. Those things are great!!
