6-Speed Shifter Knob Replacement
6-Speed Shifter **** Replacement
If anyone can shed some light onto this subject it would be greatly appreciated. My shifter **** for the 6 speed got some scratches on it and since I am a perfectionest I has to be replaced. Now I have the new shifter **** itself, but I do not know how to swap the new one with the old one. I have one dealer that says I need to bring it in and others say that I don't - yet no one will tell me what needs to be done. SO, if anyone knows what's up -- that would be awesome. Thanks

Re: 6-Speed Shifter **** Replacement
The **** is screwed on. Unscrew it, from the base) to the left. It's very tight and will probably require vise grips or channel locks and a towell (if it's scratched you probably wont care if you mark it up. One turn with the tool will do it, the rest you can do by hand. If you look at earlier posts you will find one on updating the console with pictures that describes the procedure.
