9k miles-21.48MPG so far!?!?!
Hey everyone,
I just figured up that in the 9145 miles so far, I have spent 425.6 gallons of fuel(dont ask, my wife thinks I'm **** for keeping fill up records in all my cars). So some simple math 9145/425.6= 21.48 or 21.5mpg. How has everyone else been doing? Here my last few fill ups where I had Better MPG, but also only shifting up at 2k-2.5k RPM, and cruising 65MPH on the freeway.
352 miles driven, 15.9 at fill up, 22.1
402 miles driven, 17.5 at fill up, 22.9
Oh, Btw, The cheapest I have filled up for so far this year is $2.12 for 93 octane to the highest $2.99 a gallon for 92 octane.
Silly I keep track of all this stuff.
Anyone else keep detailed records on thier cars? I keep records for my last car I had for 14+years, it filled two mini-notebooks. and God knows how much I spent on fill ups. I even trained my wife to keep logs for her accord. The only one I dont really track is my EL camino(350ci, ~325hp, 400Ft lbs, 4 speed auto- 700R4, with 3.73 gears=12+mpg). Its a money pit so I dont want to know how much it cost to operate.
Wow, already this year I have spent $1049.46 on fill ups. Its no wonder I can afford to mod my ride. Bummer...Guess I will have to keep my money to Mod my house!
Hey thats only $.115 cents per mile! yeah its cost effective to own... J/K

I can match your **** retentiveness! I have an Excel spreadsheet built to do all the calcs for me (Total price, MPG, Miles / Day, $ / Day, $ / Mile).
Just looking through my chart:
Total Miles: 2195
Total Gas Price: $246.22
MPG: 20.6 MPG (overall)
Miles / Day: 9.26
$ / Day: $1.04
$ / Mile: $.112
Yes, the car is a weekend driver!

Records
I never keep records of it, but I always fill up, calculate mpg, and reset my odo. I'm always inbetween 19.8 to 20.8 mpg.
Then again I have Nav, and it does the calculations for me and has bunch of other info.

If I drove like you, I'd probably get 22 mpg. But I drive more aggressively and get 17-19 mpg. This is not a Prius, who cares about mpg?!?!?
You need to dip into the throttle more often!
If you are shifting at 2500 rpm, you might as well be driving a Civic
Do you know what the car sounds like at WOT revving up to redline? It sounds awesome! If you get a CAI kit, you will hear the engine more and consequently, want to rev higher more often to hear that wonderful sound.

The G gets good gas mileage for a sports car. What car with 280hp are you going to get thats going to be better? 21 mpg is better than what most people get. I've driven only v8's before this car; I can live with the gas; I just wish the car payment/ insurance was lower, but it is what it is I suppose.

I write the mileage and MPG from the Nav on each fillup receipt. I keep them in an envelope in the glove box but have not analyzed it yet (probably never will). I've also trained my wife to do the same with her car.
My car started out getting close to 20MPG but these days it's almost always right around 18MPG. I hope cleaning the K&N filter would help increase the MPG a little bit, but I'm not holding my breath.

I think corvette's and GTO's get better mileage than our cars.
Poop.
just kidding. But my friends with their crazy little TDi's make as much (or more!) torque than my 05 coupe 6mt. Oh, and they get 52mpg on the highway. Yikes.

I lose! everytime I fill up I reset my ODO and calculate the gas I put in the tank. So far with S/C and my aggresive driving I get on average
200 miles driven (when my E light comes on)
14 gallons pumped in =
14.28 MPG
I got as high as 16.5 mpg a couple times with really slow driving..

to me, its not about gas savings, I own a great gas guzzler(the elky). I do drive it to the limits on the weekends. Then the milage goes down, I know. What the thread was about is if anyone else was as **** as me, like matt_0309. I just like to know what i am getting, plus it gives me a reason to use the math in school that they said you would always use in the real world...
Navi figures it out for you??!?!?!... man that too cool.................and lathargic.
hehehhhehhehee =)

i drive shifting keeping it above 1800 rpm at all times and cruising at minimum in 6th at 50mph (reccomended shift point is 52mph i believe).... i get 18.5ish mpg driving around town where the speed limit is 45 max anywhere.... lots of stop signs and lights
