I'd really like to see the price gap bridged with a single-turbo, RWD version (the hot G35), in the same manner as the not-so-old GT-S models.

Having had a street-dominating 325-350HP '97 Mitsu. GSX, I can appreciate the advantages of AWD... ...especially in West Texas where it rarely snows.

An AWD option for the coupe would be nice for some of those running big-hitting aftermarket turbo kits, but it would simply add too much weight to an already-portly coupe in a factory version... ...not to mention killing the fun factor in the handling department. The nice system from the GT-R would simply add too much cost as well.

Well AWD would be in the GTR, but then again, they also said its going to be lighter then the current g35. I dont see how that could be unless they gonna make the whole car out of fiberglass.

I would love to see the GTR with AWD set up or something similar to the Honda SH AWD system since thats the best out right now.

As far as the GTR going for 75k.... i'm sorry i just dont see it being that much. If you going to make this m3 contender, then there is no point in making it cost that much. I say it would be 60k +/- (hope i'm right)

I'm not a fan of AUDI. I think they made it one of the sexiest looking 4 dr car, and with some body mods it looks UBER HOT.

but...

Their reliability is horible in my opinion. Most of the people i know that had one or have... all hate it. There are soo many problems with it its not even wroth it. My best friend had an A4 2002, he barely had it for 2 yrs and he just got rid of it for a tsx cause his A4 would give him a ton of trouble.
Plus for a 4dr S4 is pretty heavy.

The Good News? It's already here with the '06!

http://infinitihelp.com/Infiniti/Mod...ifications.htm

Drivetrain
G35 Coupe G35 Coupe 6MT
Drive configuration
Front-engine /all-wheel drive

The Bad News? I'm sure it's a cut/paste error from the sedan.

Thats funny.... they say Rear wheel drive/ all wheel drive...... in the specs but on the Overview, they don't mention anything about the AWD. I would think if they had the AWD version available they would really use that to market the new 06's, but they don't... so that could be a mistake on their part. Maybe they confused it with the G35X sedan.

Definately another cut-n-paste error on the part of the company that does Infiniti's site updates, etc.

And does anyone know the weight difference between the G35 Sedan and the G35x Sedan? That would give us a good idea of what the weight difference would be, if offered on the current coupe.

Curb weight

G35: 3,468 lbs
G35x AWD: 3,650 lbs
G35 6MT: 3,512 lbs

Source: www.infiniti.com ( always have to list the source!)

The older Audi A6's have the 2.7 bi turbo setup that is in the S4. Not a bad deal but the turbos become unreliable after 80K miles and most 2000/2001 A6's in the good price range have at least 60K. Then again a reflash of the ECU netted a 40 or 50 HP increase alone .

The key with the 2.7TT is simply to upgrade the turbos to S6 turbos (which sadly run in the range of at least $4K) but the power potential is monstrous in that car. Kinda like a much larger 1.8T (of course with another turbo )

Oh yeah...anyone that says the G isn't heavy is on some type of crack. Luxury coupe or not I can't find where the hell it is hiding all that cellulite...must be wearing some baggy *** pants. It feels as portly as my GTP coupe used to.
