I'm not saying I can't live with it...I'm saying my lord why is it so heavy? I know the seats weigh a ton, but I think alot of it revolves around all the extra plastic in the trunk and I'm sure being a luxury car it is weighed down with sound deadener.
Well you can easily see why the car is 3,300 lbs. Just by looking on the underside of the car you can see the frame stiffners being close to few hundred lbs. Leather interior is heavy and so is all the sound deadning. The car frame is also heavy to begin with.
They would have to really put it on a Diet to make it less then 3k lbs And only way i see that happening is if they use cloth and use aluminum/CF on most of the car.

It is my understanding that there is the option of an AWD coupe---in Japan.
I believe the 6mt and AWD in the coupe is only available with the 2.5 liter motor. That in itself would torpedo any chances of being a viable seller in the USA, IMHO.

i think if you get the 2.5 you would be able to turbo that beast and make it a good selling point for the states (for the tuner kids out there that is)
3100-3200 (loaded) would be about right in the coupe. I've got the 'light-weight/hardtop/limited-edition' (take your pick
) 6MT, so I'm tipping the scales right at that claimed curb-weight. It's still heavy, for sure, but it's not that far from the mark. Now, all of you pulling around that extra weight (loaded) really do have something to complain about.
I still say Nissan would do good to offer a limited-edition NISMO S1 variant with the S1 engine/exhaust/ECU package, S1 suspension and no sunroof or premium pkg items, with a weight of about 3100. Less if you opt for the light-weight racing seats.
