My friend has an Acura TSX, and it came with a very impressive 380w system with pioneer speakers. Is there a big difference between a 380w system with 8 stock pioneer speakers and an 280w system with 8 boss speakers. Does wattage make a difference when speaking of clarity?

no, wattage=power, not clarity. The bose on the coupe is OK quality, probably not as good as the TSX's system.

It helps clarity at high volumes. More wattage means less clipping and less distortion under high gain.

I have to say that I'm very disappointed in the sound system in my G. I have an FX also and the sound system in that is far superior (nice door handles, too). I hate my sound system and replaced it promptly. Yes, I feel very strongly about this.

I wouldn't say the G's optional sound system is awful, but it's def not up to the competition. Then again, I'm going to assume that Nissan got a great deal from Bose, otherwise they really goofed. Me, too, re my other car was a Lexus with a very stock sound system in it. And it was a really good base model system--nothing like the muddy, reedy and poor sounding quality as the Bose. Only save for me is I frequently listen to talk radio, but music is truly distasteful in the g coupe with the supposedly high end Bose.

You want a good bose system then go upgrade it to what the 04 Max has. The Max comes with 330watts.

doing the Maxima sound system would be fine, but why would they put a better system in the Max than the G? doesn't make sense. then, too, why have to get a 330 watt system? my little system in the old Lex was under 200. has to do with quality in, quality out. and sorry to say, a lot of the Bose car systems are just not that great. that's my opinion and I personally have never heard anyone rave positively about their car with Bose.

Maxima is the top of the line Nissan and G is like entery Infiniti. Ask many Max owners who have bose they are pretty happy with their system with the ones i talked to.

I currently have a G35 Sedan and I work at Nissan. My point being is that I test drive Maxima's all day, my personal opinion is that the Bose system is a lot better in the G than the Max. I have also raced the two many of times and the G always wins.

well, that kind of makes me sad---the bose in the G is better than the Max bose. wow. or, oh gee whiz. either way, if I thought it was really important to me, I'd change out the sound system. it isn't that important, but that doesn't mean I'm totally satisfied with it either. it is what it is.
