Jolly,
Much of your decision-making process is gonna depend on what you want / need in a vehicle.

I looked at the A4, along with the BMW 330xi, Jaguar X-Type and a few others before buying my G35 Coupe.

Honestly, of the above choices, the G35 was by far the least practical, being the only coupe of the group. With 4 kids at home, a coupe doesn't make much sense, but the wife has a Mountaineer (or at least she did, until her daughter wrecked it, after wrecking her own Focus). Anyway, having just turned 40 a while back, and after having driven trucks for the past 18 years, I decided that a measure of practicality (no 2-seaters even considered) had to count, but beyond that, I wanted FUN TO DRIVE, that was my over-riding concern. Oh, that, and I had to be able to fit my golf clubs in the trunk!

So once all the poking, prodding, kicking of tires and test driving was done, I went completely with my heart (and seat of my pants) and got the most beautiful looking, sexiest, and fastest car of the bunch - the G35 Coupe. The Jag left me with minor concerns regarding reliability (though I believe Jag as a whole has gotten better about quality), and the Audi did too - I'd talked to a few owners, all of which complained about lingering problems. The BMW put me off by being too expensive, with too spartan an interior (not to mention I couldn't get AWD in a Coupe, the 3 series sedans look too much like Jettas to me). I suppose I could have compromised by getting a G sedan, but... nah. The Coupe was just too gorgeous, I HAD to have it!

Everytime I walk out or sneek out to my garage at 1 a.m in the morning just to take another peek at my car I say to myself "GOD DAMN" IT'S LIKE SEEING DOUBLE DD'S. I apologize for being so graphic but this is how I few about this beauty.

Re: G35 VS. AUDI A4

We just bought an A4 1.8T with sports and premium package. It is for my sister (my dad is paying). It's a really nice car. But it will never come even close to comparing to G.
#1. It has NO POWER
#2. Handling is not that great either (compared to G)
#3. Although I like the looks of it, it does not have that sophistication that G has.
#4. I looked at the A4 3.0 6MT as a second car for me and my wife. It costs close to $37K! You can get a fully loaded G with that money with better power, handling and looks.

Aside from that... Even though AUDIs have improved their reliability in recent years they are still nowhere near Nissan, yet alone Infiniti. Read the JDPowers 2003 reliability study.
