Anyone DYNO A COUPE yet????
hi,
Anyone with a coupe dyno theirs yet? I know personally, that Im interested in seeing the tq/hp comparision between the coupe and the Z; and im sure many of you guys are as well.
Im just wondering if the HP for the coupe and Z will turn into an altima/maxima d!ck measuring contest where the altima owners claim the same hp as the maxima and the maxima owners claim more HP, even though they are essentially the same engine

Re: Anyone DYNO A COUPE yet????
Ths was from a few weeks ago. I triad a cheap intake kit and lost power so I'm going back next week to try a Blitz SUS kit.
I made a few pulls in my 2003 automatic on the dyno this morning. The first two runs were attempted in third but the tranny downshifted both times and gave us false numbers. A fourth gear pull worked fine:

As you can see, the results are very close to Nissan's power figures when the 15% driveline loss is figured in. This was a baseline test for the car. Now it's time to extract more power!

Re: Anyone DYNO A COUPE yet????
Short for "Dynometer", which measures a cars HP and Torque. There are Engine and Car/Chassis dynos, the difference being that on the Engine dyno the engine is connected directly to the dyno and the Car or Chassis dyno the car is strapped down so the drive wheels are on big rollers. There are also 2 wheel and 4 wheel chassis dynos.
They measure the Horse power and Torque by providing resistance to the engine/wheels and measuring the amount of power need to turn a given amount of resistance.
Hope this helps.

No info yet... BUT....
I take my Manumatic coupe to K & N next week. They are using it to prototype a new cold air intake / filter application for these cars. Anyway, they will, as part of they're procedure Dyno the car with before & after mod readings. I'll post info once I have it.
