'03-'04 coupes weight about 3400 lbs. and change. '05-'06 coupes weight a little over 3400 lbs. Is this the reason these cars are on par as far as 0-60, 1/4 mile times. Or, are the horsepower numbers tweeked to show more horsepower that is not really there. I've seen the stock dyno's for the '05's and they seem to have more power. I know car mags show the new 300 hp Z's are slower than the 287 hp. What do you think? By the way, sorry for the stupid thread title.

Speaking of horsepower, anyone know if the 06 MT horsepower manufacturer rating is still the same as the 05? Since Lexus and Acura have already changed to the new rating resulting in reduced HP, I was wondering if Infiniti did the same.

 

Well, if the 05 lost 77 lbs to be equal weight with the 03/04 and had pilot sports instead of the fatso RE050s, I bet the 05 would be slightly faster.
