I am about to pick up my G35 Coupe tomorrow, but MUST drive it back home the next day. The drive is 380 miles total and I usually do it in about 6 hours (old car). What should I do to avoid damaging the break-in period? Stop every hour? Fluctuate speeds while driving? Not exceed 55? Please help me out.

 

drive at highway speeds in 4th (maybe if under rev limit for break in), 5th and 6th gear.

I did 700 miles the same day I picked up my car and that is what i did. better for a car to run continuously then to be shut off and heat up/cool down for short periods of time then start back up.

Use the shifter to vary RPM's if you are in traffic otherwise just vary your speed

I shifted about every 5-15 minutes when I was driving and did NOT use cruise.

Yeah I Did the same but be careful not using the cruise this car creeps up to 90 without warning or going past the breakin schedule. A nice State trooper was kind enough to point out my speed for me though. but the car should be fine. Goodluck!

 

So should I avoid 5 and 6th gear?

 

As long as you keep it under 4,000 RPMs, the gear should not matter.
