AC not up to par?

I don't know if it's just me but my ac seems to take a long time to cool up the car. Today after driving for 5 minutes the car was still pretty darn hot. I just put it to auto. Oh yea you think having a graphite interior has anything to do with it?

Black on black here and I didn't think that the AC was Ice cold either. I'm used to it now but I have to blast it to cool the car.

I noticed the same thing. But it becomes ice cool if you go on the highway for a bit. Guess highway speeds get the compressor going a bit more.

Re: AC not up to par?

It's been 98f and 100% humidity here in NC.

I can definitely state that my A/C works. I'm just a little disappointed in the way it works.

It gets too friggin' cold!

First thing I do is set it to 68. Before too long I'm dialing it up. Eventually I switch from "Auto" to "Manual" in order to get control of the fans while keeping the cooling temperature at 72.

My G35c is "Brilliant Silver" with the black graphite interior.

Yeah, here in Roanoke its been hot. Actually, I never use the AC when driving around town in my Black on Black coupe, just windows and sunroof. On the interstate, the AC gets too cold on Auto unless I punch it up to 74.

Re: AC not up to par?

I live in Vegas and it's been consistently above 110, and as much as 123 this summer. The AC works flawlessly in my sedan with the light interior. My windows are SUPER dark all around, and whenever I park it uncovered, I use one of those sunshades for the front window. It makes a really big difference.

Re: AC not up to par?

It seems the car does have a delayed reaction in cooling the car down. The A/C seems tepid at first, but after about 10 minutes of driving on the freeway it gets frosty fast. Overall, its not as powerful of an A/C system as in my Z06, which ought to have a frost bite warning decal .

It's definitey not just you. I've been thinking the same thing lately and I have the beige leather interior. I was even considering bringing it in to Infiniti but it looks like I'm not alone on this issue.

Take it in bro. It's possible the refrigerant level could be wrong, or you may have a slow leak.

Re: AC not up to par?

It's not as if the ac isn't cold or anything, because it is. Its just that it doesn't blow out hard enough or circulate around the car good. It can take as long as 15 minutes just for the car to be cool enough to be considered comfortable.

Re: AC not up to par?

Weird. My A/C is great. I have very cold air coming out within seconds. Are you all setting the temperature to 60 degrees first? I find that 61 or higher seems to fight against the AC.

Re: AC not up to par?

My A/C is great. It takes less than 5 minutes to kick in. I start the a/c around 74 and it automatically puts it on the highest fan speed. It gets so cold, I have to put it at 82 degrees or so. It gets over 100 degrees in TX. I do have tint and a sun shade.
