Not the typical mod path, but...

I'm going to go ahead and install these things regardless:

NISMO Sway Bars, Rogue Engineering Shifter
------

I have the following items here and ready for installation, money included:

NISMO Headers & Y-Pipe, Crank Pulley, G-Tube and would likely buy the Mystery Manifold Mod upon release. NISMO Cams are also on the wish-list.

Lately I've been thinking that I'm going to hold off on installing those things above for a while (until more funds are available) AND INSTEAD use the money to go ahead and get my Volks and the 3.92 gear swap (instead of waiting on the gear swap or the wheels/tires for a later purchase).

This is an '05 6MT coupe with about 800 miles on it so far, which is also encouraging me to avoid the 'power-producing' engine mods for a while. If I'm going to have break-in time on the new parts after the gear swap, why not take care of it while I'm still within break-in time on the rest of the car as well?

So, am I crazy? Would most of you just have to install the power mods ASAP if you already had them sitting there, or would some of you opt for the cosmetic/gear route instead and wait a while longer on the performance parts. I just can't do it all right now and I'm not sure I'd really want to either... ...until I'm past break-in.

Very nice looking car!

First off.. Let the car be stock for 2000 miles or so.

Then you can go nuts.

Personally i dont care much for cosmetic mods.

and the gears, while they do offer good performance gains, would worry me. these cars are geared so Low already, I wouldn't want to cruise on the high way at 4500 rpms all the time.

I'd say go with the shifter and the swaybars and get to know the car.
you will most likely want some form of FI in the future and kick yourself for spending so much on NA mods that will get you LITTLE HP in return.

I think the gear swap results in 80MPH cruising in 6th at something like 3400RPM. How fast are you cruising. lol And thanks. This is the first time I've done anything purely cosmetic. When I had my 325-350HP '97 Mitsu. GSX, I was $7K in and still rolling completely OEM on the outside, down to the wheels. Kind of nice having something special to look at now.

ooh a fellow 3 star boy..

I had a 97 3000GT VR4 with 450awhp. And it too was bone stock outside until this year. I put new wheels on cause the stock ones would no longer hold air.

80mph now for me is like 3400... i think.. I'll have to go check.

"450awhp" lol

I had a lot of fun with that sleeper. I never lost and I ran with some heavy hitters. Funny thing is, only people in-the-know could appreciate it. Now, it seems like nearly everyone on the road can appreciate the G.

i've lost to a couple big boys (T-88 supra and a 700whp Cobra) But other than that I held my own.

the G does have the style that everyone can enjoy.

Though I do like the stock rims very much a set if Volk would just make it that much better.

Unfortunately, I'm at the mercy of someone who helps host pics for me. I can take as many as you like, but there usually seems to be some delay in getting the uploaded. Been trying to get him to teach me.

I will be taking more pics as I put on the overlays, diffuser, wheels, etc.

The Rogue shifter and Stillen sways were my first mod. To date the sways have offered the best value of anty of my mods. Like DarthStimpy said give it a couple K before you go nuts. You never know what kinda bugs may pop up on a new car and you for sure don't want to start off on the wrong foot with your Infifniti Service guys if you have issues down the road. You should be fine with the sways and shifter for now. Just my .2 hope it helps
