Low end grunt?

Hello all,
I am a new G owner and so far love my car. I came from owning 5 different very fast mustangs/cobras. Though I am happy with the top end quickness, my previous cobra, obviously had some low end american tourqe. I was curious if there are any mods that would improve this seat of the pants feeling in my G.
p.s. I have a stock 05 6mt

supercharger or turbo charger, but the S/C will give you better low end grunt.

Actually, from what I have read, the s/c will feel mostly stock before 3300 and the turbo will have more low end torque because of higher compression. If you want more feel, get the new "secret" plenum mod that motordyne will be coming out with in a month. They say 20whp and 30tq increase over stock all through out the powerband. Check the engine forum.

Evilspeed, I'm a Mustang guy too. Let's not forget that the VQ engine is only 3.5 liters...thats 1.5 liters or 43% less than a pushrod 5.0. No way are mild bolt ons going to bring the torque into the 5.0 range. FWIW, my bolt-on naturally aspirated '94Cobra makes 280rwhp and 300rwtq. It would annihilate my brand new G35 Coupe in any speed contest. Which car do I prefer driving every day? It's a no brainer, I love my new G!

There's no way I'd put a S/C or turbo on a new $35K car thereby voiding the engine and possible the trans. warranty. Enjoy the G for what it is, a luxury sports coupe.

Regards,

Turbo has turbo lag... thus it won't kick in till 3000+ because it takes a while to spool. And since the Vortech SC is a similar spooler design, it'll also lag till 3000+.

From what I heard, the Stillen (yes, the one with the uglyass hood) SC will do you justice in the lower powerband

Porsche and Audi have gotten around that problem around ten years ago by using two smaller turbos rather than one large one. The Porsche TT comes on strong at around 2K.

Generally the smaller turbos run out of breath in the higher RPMs though.

What are you going to do when you grenade your stock shortblock, simply buy another one?

Wow, that's the first time I've ever heard anyone say the G has good top end. LOL.

Have you ever driven an Acura? Compared to my CLS the top end of the G is non-existent.

The G is a good mix of top and bottom end, but definately more proficient on the bottom end. It makes the most of its 3.5 liters and you would be hard-pressed to find an engine of similar size putting out better torque.

dude, i had a 04 TL 6 speed. You think Acura feels like it has more top end compared to the G, only because it has no low end whatsoever! The G at least has some low end. and even with that being said, the G still has a better top end than the TL IMO. (for those that don't know, the CLS TL have the same 3.2 liter engine)

I'd say that our car is the quick between the 35-55, 65-80 and 120-140 miles per hour zone. IMO.
