it's actually spray paint (black + clear coat). I know I didn't even bother thinking about it at the time I got them. Again, if someone could help out i'd appreciate it sooo much.
Thanks

Since others will probably end up asking, I'll go ahead and request a pic.

And sorry, but I'm in TX... ...and I don't think you'll find them for cheap. If you have to buy anything, I'd look at buying the minimum assembly. It's available in pieces, so you could avoid buying complete assemblies, which are going to be pretty high. Fortunately, you're in SoCal and likely have at least a few dealers within a few hours of you. The car might not have to be down for long. And the new parts would give you a chance to mod them in a way to avoid hassles.

Have you tried Acetone/Paint thinner/Turpentine, etc? It should really just wipe off if it's just spray paint.

Exactly. Then, when you're done with the ticket, just re-paint them...10 bucks for paint at most to re-paint if you didn't do it yourself.

you should test it first, sometimes paint thinner can be alittle too strong and mess up the plastic

yeah it happens...personally, i dont think it's gonna mess up plastic unless you directly poor over the taillight.
try put them on towel and start from edge and see what happens.
good luck and...maybe an overlay next time?
wanna see pictures of your taillights tho
