G35 Overhaul

Hey everyone,
These past 2 Saturdays I spent upgrading my 5AT G35 coupe. Here's a list of what I added:
Stop-Tech rotors w/stainless steel brake lines
Crawford plenum
Stillen sway bars
Tein type basic coilovers
Cusco a-arms
SPC rear toe kit
IMR grounding kit

First off, the car handles WAY better after the suspension upgrade (although many people have told me the sways alone dramatically improve the G's handling)

Second, the Crawford plenum is one of the best bangs for the buck when it comes to breather mods IMHO. I already have a AEM CAI and a Stillen cat-back and I definitely notice a difference!

I am breaking in the brakes and I notice a lot better stopping power, especially with the stainless steel brake lines.

I have a few more mods to install next week (Stillen rear strut brace, Crawford high flow cats and SAMCO custom red hoses). I'll keep you guys updated. Anyway, here's the first set of pics from two Saturday's ago install:

Not at all. If you have access to a lift, or good jack stands, it should take no more that 1 hour if are you going slowly. It is really 4 bolts to take off for the rear, and 6 or 8 in the front, if I can remember correctly.

Nice mods...
I'm going to order Basic coilovers next week. How was the install? I'm thinking of doing it myself but not sure.

Firts off, thanks everyone!

Second... I agree with marchesano, the sways are not too difficult. Just make sure to pick up some white lithium grease for the bushings. I also reccommend that if you have a power drill with a socket attachment, that you use it, because taking off the bottom engine cover is a PITA with just a ratchet.

cfiacco1 - the Tein Basic's were relatively easy, but make sure to have a second person to assist you. You will also need spring compressers. You can get them at Sears for 40 bucks, here's a a link: http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...id=00947057000

Oh, and more thing about the Tein: You will need to reuse the pillow mounts from the stock suspension.

I am thinking of the sway bars, how much tighter do you feel the car has got? Excellent choice in mods since its all money well spent...

I have the sways set on the first peg (least stiffest) in the front and second peg (mid stiffness) in the rear to get used to them, I may stiffen them up in the spring. Anyway, the difference is amzing. I always heard people who have sways claim how much better their ride is after the install, but was a bit skepitcal until I installed them myself. Definitely a must-have mod.

More pics will be coming soon (of the brakes and other crap). My PC at home is kinda lame, so I couldn't upload the pics.

Okay, here are the new pics (brakes, what's under your plenum, and the engine bay - 75% complete)

Stop-Tech rotors and stainless steel brake lines

What's under your plenum...

Engine bay - 75% complete (still need new SAMCO red hoses, battery/brake fluid cover)

Make sure your front rotors aren't on backwards. There is a specific way to put on slotted rotors so you get maximum cooling through the air fins located in between the rotors, but it differs for each company.

Good point. Project MU slots go the OTHER way.

JTrain- Thanks!

Dan_K - Yep, made sure the right ones where on. Stop Tech was nice enough to have the boxes labeled for me.
