Fugly gauges

The stock gauges are so ugly! Is there any aftermarket gagues for this beast?

Re: Fugly gauges

I wouldn't call it fugly, but I can't say I'm incredibly fond of orange everywhere. But what color should it be changed to?

Re: Fugly gauges

I think if Infiniti were to make the color similiar to the I35 sedan it would look great. I haven the I35 sedan as a loaner and I find the White Light to be much more pleasing to the eye and better looking. Funny thing is I think that it wouldn't be that hard to switch the color. I think that all the guage faces have clear plastic and the Stereo and AC/Compass read out have Amber Lenses. If you were to switch the lenses to clear and the back lit bulbs to that white color from the I35 I think it would be a great improvement. Maybe I'll get ambitious and try. Peace. Re: Fugly gauges

I have an ' 04 on order and I was thinking about collecting some samples of colored window tinting film to put over the gauge lens. I've seen it available in red and blue, and I figure I may be able to shift the stock amber color toward orange or green this way. Has anyone here tried this yet?

Re: Fugly gauges

Am I the only one who actually likes the color of the guages? It looks kinda sporty in that Orange Color

I like them.. I don't really pay attention to them, but I don't see any sense in changing them..lol...

Re: Fugly gauges

a while back when I was interested with the IS300 and reading some of their forums, One of the members switched the colors of their gauges to a real nice blue. It was a major PITA and he didn't recommend it to anyone else on the forum after he did it :P

here's a pic of when it was half done, also to show you what the color was like before. note: the link shows much better pics.

Here are some pics of hte finished product

Teh finished looks really good and looks like it came taht way from the factory. Here are some pages discussing the process from the is300.net site. note: no login required

one thing that I would like to do is get some sort of ambience lighting set up. here's what it looks like on the VW W8
