I was referring to a dealer installed option package like TRD, not OEM from the factory, totally integrated in the design and manufactering of the car.

I'm laughing my butt off at anyone who doubts a dealer's knowledge. Now sales people, that's a different story. Our service dept. is keeping abreast of the NISMO offerings.

Of course there are products coming down. CARB legal, manufacturer warranty, 170hp over stock? NO WAY. That would require re-engineering the entire engine packaging, cooling system, fuel system and management, etc.

Turbo offering from Infiniti? HIGHLY unlikely. Supercharger? 6psi of boost, MAYBE 90hp more? Absolutely realistic.

I'd rather have a SC than turbo. A single SC can be set up with moderate amounts of boost to serve the V6. Turbos would require a turbo for each cylinder bank (2) unless you want quite a bit of turbo lag, which is very annoying for most driving. Examples of very successful SC's: Mercedes, Ford Lightning. I would suspect a broad torque band and average 30% power increase with the SC. Higher boost, free flowing exhaust and other mods can increase that, but then you start running into reliability and longevity issues. Give me a solid and reliable SC with 30-40% power increase, warranty included, $2,500-3,000 max price and i'm sold.

 

I'd be sold too. That's plenty more power, and SC adds such a smooth delivery it's more than just that power increase. Also, You get that fun SC whine!
