Supercharger for G35
Supercharger for G35
My dealer confirmed my information that Infinity is developing dealer installed options that will not void warranty that will boost the HP up to 450 HP. Call Andy Truman at Cooper Infinity , Tulsa, Oklahoma , at 918-249-9393 for more info. Tell him Richard refered you to him. They are getting geared up to install. Mine will be the first 6 speed coupe. WOW !!!!!!!!! email me at rkpower@mindspring.com if I can help you. Andy will treat you honestly and fairly.
Re: Supercharger for G35
Sorry for the mispelling of Infiniti. Yes, this information came from the dealer, and yes it is incomplete, and yes more information is needed when it is available. It will be under warranty from Infiniti and does not void your factory warranty.
And yes you have the choice not to use this information.
It could be that the package will be a turbo instead of a supercharger. Will wait to see what is offered. In any case, I love the G35Coupe. It is better than I had hoped for. Good luck to you. Interested in finding pedals like are on the 350Z including dead pedal????

Re: Supercharger for G35
Sounds fishy ... must be a NISMO turbo with the new thing from Nissan. I don't see it happening with a factory installed supercharger though.

Hello Sounds Fishy - it will be dealer installed not factory- hope this may help you understand it better. You are not required to purchase one if you do not want it. It is not required.

Re: Supercharger for G35
Supercharger never works as well as turbo option on any car. Many tried to SC the Lexus cars and the results were very dissapointing so now all the kits out tehre are turbo kits. I think SC is a waste of time and provide poor acceleration numbers compared to turbos. Power Enterprise Twin turbo kit will be ready for the 350Z in March and the G35 shortly after that. If you want serious power that is the way to go. There are a few sneak peak photos on my website.

Re: Supercharger for G35
This sounds suspect... I think it's probably dealer BS. Has any company ever put out a dealer installed supercharger or turbo for any cars? Not to my knowledge. It just doesn't make any sense. Why would infiniti let dealers install something like a turbo when they can probably make more money installing it themselves and changing a few minor things to sell it as another model i.e. skyline. Don't believe what dealers tell you some of them just work there and don't know squat about cars.
Re: Supercharger for G35
Um... am I the only one in here that remembers that Infiniti is part of nissan, which owns NISMO??? they make aftermarket everything for there cars, because they race them, and to meet race requirements (in some circuts) they have to sell the cars and the parts they put in the cars to the public.... so why would that be fishy?
and this is the year that Nisan/Infiniti decided to open NISMO parts divisions doors to the USA market. They have made turbo upgrades for most if not all of their cars. Now you can get them in the us instead of japan.
Good times all around

Re: Supercharger for G35
450hp is not hard to believe at all... that is a "at the crank" rating that all manfactures use, including after market companies because it sounds more impressive. after you calculate out about a 15-20% driveline hp loss(for a manual-an automatic would have higher losses) your talking about 350-360hp at the wheels.
There is a guy in denver that had a custom turbo kit built for his maxima (2 gens old) that was making about 350 at the wheels at 15psi with stock internals and a stock ecu!!!! only other mod was a custom exhaust, and a CAI. and remember this is 1 mile above sea level, so there is a lot less O2 that most places.

Re: Supercharger for G35
yeah, seems like a lot of folks are not aware of NISMO and R-Spec that's going to be availible to U.S. customers next year.... and this is not the first time this has happened.... TRD is covered by Toyota if the parts are installed by a dealer, and Comtech had parts for Acura/Honda that was covered by the factory warranties.... so now you know... it's official that dealers will soon be able to install performance parts on your G with your warranty intact....
p.s. turbo is not better than SC in everyway... SC has less lag, more leanear power delivery, and still enough power boost for street use.....

Re: Supercharger for G35
No way is an emissions legal, manufacturer offered, forced induction system going to bump the horsepower by 170 from 280, won't happen, period. Also, it won't be a turbo, either. Too hard to engineer after the fact for OEM reasons vs. cost and installation feasability. TRD is a good example of this w/ their SC's. They offer a nice set-up on several models.
Also, I would much rather have a supercharger given a choice. I've had both and turbos have heat management issues, lag and boost control issues and installation issues. Doesn't have the linear power delivery of a SC and is too sensitive to hot weather. No thanks.
