I NOW HAVE MY WONDERFUL G-COUPE FOR 2 WEEKS NOW AND I JUST ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT BUT SHIFTING IS ABRUPTLY ROUGH AS COMPARED TO THE G35 SEDAN. MY BROTHER HAS THE 4 DOORS AND IT SHIFTS SO SO SMOOTH. I WAS WONDERING IF ITS BECUASE IT IS STILL UNDER THE BREAK IN PERIOD ? ALSO, FOR INSTANCE LET SAY IF I WERE TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN GOING 15 MPH THEN IF I WERE TO APPLY A LITTLE BIT MORE GAS, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD HARSHLY DOWNSHIFT INTO 1 GEAR, GIVING THE CAR A VERY ABROUPT FEEL. HELP PLEASE !

 

Reset the ECM (disconnect your battery for about 3 hours) after about 1000 miles and you'll notice a difference in the smoothness of the shifting...

 

what does resetting the ecm do

 

i'm sorry...i meant ECU, not ECM....anyway do a search on ECU resets and you'll see some explanations....

 

Get it to the dealer asap. I blew my transmission of a G35 Coupe and it started the same way. Let them check the transmission fluid. They had to replace my transmission (one week and counting ) they think I might have it by Tuesday . But I think next Saturday

 

How long did you have your Coupe and how many miles were on it when you blew the tranny? Sounds very unusual.

 

Sold my G for the same reason. I had nothing but problems with that thing. They kept resetting the ECU and i kept getting harsh shifting, finally they said they would have to replace the tranny. I then handed the keys back to infinti and terminated the lease.
