Guys, i need your knowledge. Im about to pick up my 06 today. The dealer was gonna swap out the 06 trunk with the new spoiler and put an 05 trunk with the 05 spoiler. He said his manager wouldn't let him do that. Now he is gonna try to take off the 06 spoiler and install the 05 spoiler on it. My question is that, will it fit, and are the holes the same? He said they never tried it before and they are going to get back to me. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

 

I was waiting for this question to come up... I have no clue but I'm sure someone knows and am curious to see the answer.

 

why not just fine one that's spoilerless and just install the 05 or the
iron board of your choice?

 

they already have 1 in with the aero package...and its waiting for me....plus i dont want the third brake light there for no reason anyway.

I'm going to install the 06 spoilers and u wants to replace urs with the 05. The 06 spillers looks beautiful than the 05.

 

Did you get the swap in writing? If you did, make them do the swap. There is no reason why they can't. The trunk lids are the same. If you made the deal and want the bigger spoiler, it's your car, and they should accommodate you and honor their agreement.

The 05 spoiler fit, and i did not pay the 800. But that does answer everyone's question. The holes are the same so i guess anyone can swap spoilers.

I just got an 06 with the aero two weeks ago. At the time of purchase I was debating to myself whether or not to request the older spoiler during the negotiation. I was and currently am not sure which one I liked better. In the end, I went with the newer spoiler because of the following:

Althouth the <05 spoiler has a more aggresive look, the 06 spoiler has a cleaner line which compliments the lines of the G better, lighter, and identify the vehicle as an 06 (most important aspect). Also, you have more leverage to negotiate other changes if you do not request the dealership change out the spoiler. I'm sure there are a few owner with the previous spoiler that would love to trade theirs out for the 06's. You could have probably made a little dinero from the trade.

 

I had the car for about 2 weeks now and love how it looks. I confuse some other G35s on the road when they see the spoiler. Im loving my car and the way the spoiler looks. I guess because in my opinion its more agressive
