350Z stock air intake

I'm 55 years old and most time could care less if there even was a radio in the car. I do want the radio for highway trips but around town, I want the windows down and I want to hear the engine! That's music to me! I ordered the stock 350Z air intake from Jayson at NissanWholesaleParts. I just installed it tonight and I am very pleased. The intake on our G35s muffles the intake quite a bit. The sound is much more pleasing. I also have the Stillen air box and K&N filter but this new 350Z intake added much more sound.

I also have the Stillen true dual exhaust on my 6MT. Granted it sounds much better than the stock system, I still want more low end "burble". (Actually, one of the reasons that I kept an 85 Fiero GT for 15 years was because I loved the exhaust note so much!) I currently have the Borla dual exhaust on order to see if it sounds any better than the Stillen. I also have a set of stainless steel cat replacement pipes on order to see if that improves the sound and maybe a litttle "butt-o-meter" power increase. Actually - I think the old "butt-o-meter" felt a little power increase with the 350Z intake. Maybe that's part of their 7 horse power difference.

That question has been asked hundreds of times on this forum. YES-YES-YES - It fits the sedan. As far as price, Jayson has them for about $80.00.

Are you talking about the 350z air duct right? Or did you take off your Stillen air box too? I thought you can have the 350z's air duct and still keep the Stillen air box on. Or what?

The best thing to do IMO is to put the Zpipe with the Stillen Hi Flow Box. I have the Box, waiting for my pipe to come. The box by itself is great, but have heard great things about the combo. Their is a thread about it with pictures somewhere. Your not going to get an intake for 80.00, try the pipe for 80, you should get it used from someone with a Z that put a CAI on. The stillen hi flo is about 260.

Mine is scheduled to arive today, I will let you know. However do a search, from what I understand it will increase the sound of the engine, not sure about performance, but I think it has a lot to do with the 7 ponies the Z has over the G. Just get the damn thing, and if you dont like it, sell it! ebay!

Yup - I have the 350Z intake pipe and the Stillen air box combo. It is producing a lot more grins from me when I get hard on the throttle.

Man, I hope when I'm 55 I'm still buying badass cars and modding them...look forward to hearing your feelings on Borla vs. Stillen.
