Change to a Sport Horn?

I have just purchased an '05 G35 6MT and absolutely love the car. The first day I replaced the air filter with a K&N and now am contemplating replacing the stock horns with a "sport horn". The voice just doesn't fit the car, it needs that ultra expensive sounding Italian style horn.

I was wondering if anyone knew of some good models out there that produce that sound. I've seen the PIAA model and the Hella's but what fits the best in a G?

I'm always open to opinions?!?!

Now that's a strange mod....you use the horn on a daily basis?

First time I heard of anyone wanting to change the horn. I like the stock horn, but I don't think it would be too hard to put in one of those Italian weenie horns.

Hit Performance Nissan at www.mynismo.com for the twin "sport" horns. They're an option for the Z, I believe, but they would work on the G as well.

Hello All, I Did The Z Sport Horns On My 05 6mt, And Its Sounds Really Good. The Best Part Is There Is No Cutting Of Any Wires, Just A Plug And Play System.

Thanks mwarsh1. I didn't realize the install was so easy. Can you do your best to describe the difference in sound/tone, etc.? I guess one horn is a higher tone and one is lower, to give a full, unique sound?

FIAMM horns are pretty loud and "Ferrari-like" :

I had a set on my previous car. I think I got mine from Pep Boys

On NASIOC (subaru board), horn mods aren't uncommon.

I've thought about changing the horns right after I first used them. I like my horns scary. I want that minivan or truck driver to jump in their seat when they cut me off!

I'd like to switch in Hella SuperTones for sound, or the Sport Z for ease.

Check these out: http://www.griotsgarage.com/search.jsp?earchtext=horns
Both are very load, the Italian folded horns seem louder in person but I don't know about mounting them. The Hellas are easy to mount. Relay and wiring included

PIAA Sport Horns

After having air horns on my previous car, the OEM horns on my G35 Coupe had to go. I got the PIAA sports horn 500/600H dual tone. It's a straight swap using the original mounting points and wiring harness. it's very easy and should take no more than 20-30 mins.

I compared it side by side with the OEM horn and there is a signficant increase in the loudness level with the PIAA's.

And for those who have doubts about this mod, it's inexpensive and effective. My main reason is to get whoever is in my way (cars or people) to actually notice me and pay attention. With a wimpy horn, most would just look at you - give you a dirty look or just plain ignore you.

With upgraded horns and air horns - people jump! I was also considering the Z Sport Horns but not sure about those.
