I guess you have to look at this car relative to it's cost. Like other have said, I think it's unrealistic to expect Supra performance with a quality ride and luxury appointments for ~$35k. You might consider raising the price you're willing to pay and getting a high powered V8 luxury roadster of some sort.

It all depends on your reference point and personal car preferances. The G is quicker than most cars but not faster than evrything on the road. And yes it is an awesome looking ride. I am happy with its accelaration, but I know for sure that other true sports cars will leave it in the dust. So, I enjoy my ride and always remember there is always some car faster and possibly "'nicer" out there. However, in the end are they worth the price I am willing to pay.

So you go to a car with over 200HP less and now your disappointed in it's performance?
I did about the same as you some time back and you just adjust because it is impractical to drive a 500HP car daily so the G is perfect for that, you get to drive a nice street car that is absolutely beautiful for 35-40K and will hold it's value very well in the market as it ages.

For real, put a twin turbo system on the g and make it 500hp, you will be much happier with the performance. It still wont be as fast as the supra, but it will beat an M3. Like htownboy said, why would you expect a heavier car with about 35-40 % less power to feel the same with accel. and that crap. cant really compare fi to na... fi to fi.. you will have a smile on your face and you know it...

i ride in my friends evo xiii once in a while, and i have to tell you the quality of the ride is S**T, but its fast as hell i have to admit. you either you go ***** out on perfrmance, like a evo, or ***** out on luxury like a benz. but however you can get the best of both worlds and get a Infiniti G35 Coupe

Geez this is well-said!! U r the one who made the great choice hahahahaha

Can GTR rape new M3 in performance wise? I guess u never know untill it comes

out. I really hope GTR is cheaper than the new M3 and rapes it in performance.

Btw, anyone know how much hp GTR is gonna have? I think I picked the number

450hp somewhere in the board. Anyone know?

The rumors seem to be settling in the 450-480hp range.

Haha... just as I expected, you guys are giving me a hard time. When I bought this car, I thought I could live with the performance of G. But after 11 months, it just doesn't seem to be a case. Yup, I just made a wrong choice but no I didn't waste $35k... I didn't even pay that much to begin with since I bought mine used and I got a good use of this car for past 11 months. It is a good car for what it is: a performance luxury coupe. But I guess it just doesn't satisfy me as well as I thought it would. There is no need for some of you to be childish and bash me because I'm not bashing G in any way. G is a great car, but I feel like I can live with less luxury and more performance now that I actually had the car for 11 months. It is hard to figure out everything about a car on one test drive, BTW.

True, but it only takes a minute or two to figure out that the G just isn't that fast of a car. IMO the G's forte is appearance and handling. Also, I like the price.

Heh, given some of the threads I've read here I think you're actually getting some constructive feedback.

One upside, I guess, is that the G has a really good re-sale value, so if you decide to sell it for something quicker you shouldn't take too much of a hit. Cheers.

No it's not the fastest ride around, and certainly not as fast as some of your past rides, but for a 280-300 hp 3500lb luxury ride, it's not bad.

If you need a power adder, get a TT for a quick 100hp. or maybe nitrous for limited 'blasts'.

I agree with you Picus112, very civilized thread indeed! I also understand where Rookie84 is coming from. I think the "problem" with our G's is that they look so damn hot and fast that everyone expects them to be so much more. I mean no one expects 2004 Infiniti M45 with 340 hp/333 ft-lbs. to ever be fast but once you test drive one you're pleasantly surprised. It's kind of other way around with us. My 2 cents...

It's just rough that there's not really a good all around car right now for a reasonable price. The mod-ability/turbo +AWD of a EVO into the G35c would have been heaven.
