Lojack - worth it or pass?

Dealer offered me $650 for Lojack, $795 for Lojack with Early Warning System, on my 2006 G35 coupe. I'd like to get your thoughts on whether it's worth the money or not.

yeah i think its worth it..i paid the 795 for the early warning..its something i could have used when my last car was stolen..there are GPS tracking units now...but I am not sure if its worth it and the costs associated with it.

Yeah I would say it's worth it. I had it on my Integra Type R when it got stolen and it was soon later retrieved.

How can they steal the car if they don't have the key fob with the security chip?

Insurance companies give you a discount if you have LoJack, but I don't know how much. Anyone know approximate $ discounts?

Personally I don't think it's worth it. I come from another car forum, and many cars that had it installed and got stolen werent retrieved, and when they were, it was already too late, the whole thing was stripped. I instead went with a pager/alarm system. Gives me the headsup if my car is being messed with.

I don't think most thieves drive around in a tow truck/flat bed. If they did they wouldn't be stealing a G35, they'll stealing a porsche, mercedes, etc...

i think its worth it. i always hear of people on other forums saying theyre pissed when they civic gets stolen, but then someone gets on and says mine was stolen too, but i had LoJack and got it back.

Possible recovery for being stolen + Insurance discounts

I would say NOT worth it..In my department we only have one patrol car equipped with lojack and there are like 2 people who have been trained on it ever..So no one uses it..And secondly,if your car is stolen do you really want to get it back after it was beat to ****?

i see many of you previously own an Integra Type R.

So did I, it got stolen, but I had no Lo-Jack though. luckly i got some money from insurance.

As for infiniti, I don't think it's a high stolen vehicle like integras and civics., never so far hear a G35 got stolen yet. so I don't think it's worth it.

One thing I gotta say handling wise, I think Integra Type R did better than
G35 coupe, it's not bulky like the G.

$650 for Lojack is too much. Ask your dealer to low it down around $400.

well everyone has their own opinion...the plus with early warning is that there is a transmitter you carry with your keychain..if the car is moved even 1 foot and the transmitter is not within close proximity to the car i mean very close, the early warning will kick in..this means that they will contact you in 5 different methods..text message, cell phone, pager, work and phone(in any order you want)..which will alert you..i think thats pretty cool..that will give you the heads up someone is messing with your car...i like it..i mean if the thieves decide to steal something within the car and not take it..then lojack is useless...i would get a pager alert as well in addition to lojack
