If not your G whats your daily driver?

Well, I am about to spend a little cash for a daily driver. I have a 65 mile round trip commute to work 6 days a week, needless to say I am racking up toooo many miles on my baby. Not to mention the chips and the maint. issues. I am about to buy a 97 Miata cheap, good gas milage, pretty fun, and maybe even do a little autoX with it later.I was just curious to see what (if anything) you guys are driving as daily drivers. TIA

I bought a Honda Hatchback. Great daily driver, i get about 28mpg which i'm happy about, and only spend about 20 bucks a week on gas. I have to drive 45 mins to work, and 45 mins back home. So yea I was really racking up the miles on my G, and was spending about $50 every 4-5 days on gas.

I bought the little honda for 2k in great condition. No rust on the body, it had a new paint job, and the guy worked at a Honda dealer so he replaced the interior with a new dash (radio was stolen, idiots that did it broke the dash).

I love my Honda and G35. <3

so if u drive 6 days on a daily driver, you will have only one day to enjoy the G, cars are depreciative with time, I would just enjoy it while i can.

I bought a 93 Acura Integra off my friend for $1500. It was in great condition and runs great too. I almost like driving it more than the G because I can park anywhere and not give a rat's @ss about chips/dings. Plus, I throw the 87 stuff in there.

Scott, good luck with the new car. Not sure I would *want* to drive anything else as much you will be driving the new ride but I see your reason quite clearly. The Miata is a good choice IMHO. Fun little ride but MUCH less expensive. LOL!

I have a 96 Civic coupe before the G. Now it is my daily driver. My Civic has a GSR motor in it and it still gets 28 to 30 MPG. I only have about 50,000 miles on the GSR motor, so I will be driving it for a while. I commute 70 miles round trip everyday, so it saves me some gas money. I still want to drive my G, so I only drive it two days out of five. I try to keep it about 12,000 miles a year. I think it is a great idea to have a daily driver if you have to commute for that long.

This is so true. You pay good money for the car, might as well use it more than you are planning.

I have a 3000GT SL as a second which I was going to use as my daily driver, but everytime I drove the GT, I wished I was in my G. So the GT sits in the garage and gets driven when I need to carry food or sod or something that will smell or make a mess.

I raked up 33,000 miles on the G last year. Love it. I intend to drive it into the ground.

Trust me, once you get used to your G,
you will not want anything not as competitive to drive
as your daily driver.
my daily civic just sits there and rots ever since I got the G.
