Got killed.....!

6 pm in OC...... got my a$$ handed over by a 911 (i would say 05) model with aero kit on...... i was at the light, he looked over, and i looked over, it was a moment... light turned green, and the launch begun....1/4 mile down, 1 1/2 car length later, i was cursing like no tom...... why did i loose?:
1. his car was faster
2. he got lucky
3. i had a passenger (175 lbs extra) and he didn't (he's only 19 yrs old... i know b/c he's my neigbor's kid... just graduated from HIGH SCHOOL)... damn rich bastard......
4. only mod on my car is the stillen true dual......although it sounded great when i hit redline with this puppy in 3rd gear....

what can i do to take this moo foo the next time......no S/C or turbo..... no money for it........

Nice try, but no contest dude. W/no mods, you're best off avoiding any 911 1995 and newer. I'd stay away from the Boxster S, Cayman and Cayenne Turbo as well.

Are you serious? If it's a Porsche 997 base model, the Porsche driver must have been the world's worst driver because there's no way in hell that you should be that close to him after a 1/4. I've tracked a friend's 997 and I ran a 12.68 on my first try. Gs run mid 14s or around 2 secs slower.

A I posted many times before the G35 is not a fast car. Almost any other performance car is faster. Here's an alphabetical short list of non-exotic cars that will blow away the G on the street: Audi S4, BMW M3, Cadillac CTS-V, any Corvette, Chrysler/Dodge SRT6 & SRT8, Jag XJR, any MB with the last letters AMG, Mitsubishi EVO, Pontiac GTO, any Porsche other than the base Boxster, and Subaru WRX. Of course there are many others but I tried to avoid any of the $80K+ cars. Hell even a base $25K Ford Mustang should easily beat a G in the 1/4. BTW all of the cars that I listed with the exception of the Mustang are at least a sec faster in the 1/4 than the G, and for those of you who track your car, you know that a sec differance in the 1/4 isn't exactly a close race.

Well, I have seen the CTS and mustang GTs and neither one of them can hang on the free way...I know its not a straight line on a track that is designed for sloppy american cars but who nraces on a track anyways?!?!? The real fun is on the freeways. As for the GTO, it does push 400 rwhp so I wouldn't mess with one.

You guys really gotta stop trying to race against 911s and crap. Street racing isn't exactly the safest thing so what's the point if you know there's no competition?

Reread my post. I didn't list the CTS. I listed the CTS-V. The CTS has 255 HP and the CTS-V has 400HP.

True, but if you pick your spots carefully, you can race safely as long as you don't get too carried away. In other words even when the roads are clear, shut it down at around 100. Of course law enforcement doesn't share my views. Racing on the streets is a very serious offense, and if you are charged with racing, you better get a lawyer.

I've honestly beaten BOTH models (Boxster S and Cayenne Turbo) you've listed above in my G. Still looking for a 997 Carrera S just for giggles.

You're kidding right? were you serious when you tried to race him? or better yet - post about it here?!?!?

It's a Porsche 911 - any god damn model/variation of the numbers 911 would eat you alive. I can't believe you even tried...
