F'in FedEX!

Ok...I ordered Greddy side skirts 7 days ago and had a delivery date of today. I live in Ocala, FL and took the day off work tomorrow so I can go to Tampa tonight and drop off the skirts to get painted and get some audio stuff done in Tampa (Tampa is about 1 1/2 hours from me).

I just learned that...opppps.....the package is nowhere near Ocala and will not be delievered until tomorrow. Now remember...I'm supposed to be at an audio place in Tampa at 9am tomorrow. Meanwhile the paint guy has been waiting for these damn skirts all week. I call FedEx to see if maybe I can pick up the package at the Ocala facility whenever it arrives tonight. NOPE!! They tell me I have to wait until tomorrow. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I have any recourse?????? I planned my whole f'in day around that package getting here today (7 days after being delievered). Now...I'm stuck either cancelling the audio guy (he'll be pissed) or getting the skirts to the paint guy, somehow at my expense, next week. Meanwhile....the guy painted my bumper and saved some paint for the sides which I promised him by tomorrow morning. AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Again...can I bitch and at least get my shipping money back? Is there anything I can do except to take this one on the chin and move on??

TIA

I kow how you feel!!!

This was the same senario last week when UPS was late one day shipping my new wheels. The customer service was not very responsive so I requested a manager. The manager offered reimburtsment and alllow me to pick the item up at the HUB. I picked them up; however, did not request the reimburstment. ALthough it was about $100, it wasn't worth the effort.

You can should talk to a FedEx supervisor, they will show more sympathy and have more authority to at least reimburse the shipping cost.

I have found out that FedEX has an automated refund line. I (being an attorney) read all 1200000000 exclusions and its ridiculous.

Example: Excludes when there is an unexpected large release of packages from any shipping location

wtf!

if shipped ground, prob not, as i don't think they guarantee ground service. If air you could make a claim (for the ship chg) and they will most likely pay it.

When they arrive, be sure to fully inspect them for any damage with the driver there.

....how about doing an address change on them directly to the paint place? If you call fedex they might be able to do that for you (talk to a supervisor). You could also just try leaving a note on your door for the driver to change the deliv address, since it sounds like you won't be there for delivery. Be careful though, sometimes an address change will delay it even more.
