15 mpg or so. I wouldn't ever expect to get better milage unless you do a majority of highway driving.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but my mpg has been dropping ever since I hit about 1700 miles on the car. Prior to 1700 miles I was getting about 15.5mpg, then on the tank after I got 14. Now my current tank(~2200) is looking like 11-12mpg. I haven't really changed my driving habits and I realize that with 100% city mpg isn't gonna be high but still.

From what i remember when i was taking emissions/diagnostics was that in hot temps gas will expand and becomes really pressurized. Take for example when you fill up on a hot summer day and you are around less then a quarter tank. When you unscrew your gas cap it makes a hissing sound. That hissing sound is all the pressure build up thats being released. If you keep topping off you are liable to create a gas leak later down the road because of the built up pressure the tank undergoes. This is only if you keep doing it everytime you pump gas, but every oncein a while if you accidently top off it shouldn't create a problem. Those gas signs at the station obviously means something when they suggest you shouldn't top off.

Yes, gasoline is bad for your paint. If it happens, you've got to neutralize it ASAP with water which you can get from any gas station.. The best thing to do is to follow nikko's suggestion: don't top of your gas tank.

I notice the same thing. As soon as I start the car, it revs up to 2000-2400 rpms. I'm glad I'm not the only one. It idles around 800 rpm when warmed up, which seems a little high too. (I have an '05 6MT sedan)

I have been getting 18 ~ 19 MPG mostly local, 10min from home to train station, I thought it was cause by low oil level, but after reading this, I feel much better.
