Re: 6MT or 5A?
There is little difference in acceleration numbers.

Re: 6MT or 5A?
Yeah, I guess I should explain my logic about the 5MT...
I'm simply saying I enjoy shifting a MT but don't really need all the high end razz-ma-tazz that Infinity includes with the 6MT (leather, Brembos, 18's, etc.) The engine has more than enough torque to keep me happy with a 5MT. (I'll bet guys are skipping a gear many times anyway during normal driving.) So why not offer a base coupe with a 5MT?

I can't tell you what you should buy, you need to decide that yourself. I will however say this, DO NOT make your decision based on the Brembo brakes. They provide NO advantage over the standard brakes under normal driving conditions. They do not provide shorter braking distances, the only thing they do is resist fading during high speed constant braking. I can even go so far as to say that the Brembo brakes are a performance brake, made to work under high heat situations, and do not function optimally unless operating at that high temp. You will never reach that temperature in daily driving, and will have sub par braking. If it is purely asthetic reasons, paint the regular calipers.
Re: 6MT or 5A?
Ya thats what the dealer told me too about the brakes. Ok so here's a question for those of you who have a 5AT. When your cruisin along say on the highway and you go to hammer on the gas, is there a delay or anything b4 the car actually takes off? B/C thats what I noticed about the 330ci that I purchased b4 the M3. When I bought the 330 I decided to go automatic with steptronic and i figured it'd be fine but when I actually had it and drove it for 4 months I wasn't happy b/c of that slight delay when I went to step on the gas. So I went to trade it back for a standard and figured what the hell NEED MORE POWER LOL, so went with the 6MT M3. this is why I'm kinda in a dilema cause I don't wanna make the same mistake twice but if there is no delay when you step on the gas then I will probably go with the 5AT thats already on order. Besides I think it would probably make my wife happy since this is '"supposed" to be for her. hehe
Re: 6MT or 5A?
I find that under freeway driving the delay is not as noticeable unless you are demmanding a downshift. This does lag a tiny bit. The accellerator lag that I find the most annoying is when stepping on it while driving slow (10 mph). There seems to be a good amount of lag associated with the drive-by-wire.

Re: 6MT or 5A?
There is no delay in downshift on the G35 AT when you stomp on the gas. I know what you mean about BMW's. I have a 540 automatic and when I stomp on the gas, there is a ridiculous delay. Not so on G35.
