Interior Work

Does anyone know where I can go to have some interior work done on my G35? I have noticed other G35's that have wood grain installed on the dashboard and surrounding area's. I'd like to have brushed aliminium installed. I live in Naperville, IL. Any suggestions?

If you want a kit that goes over your existing trip, check out ebay.

I went to Ebay and didn't find anything. If anyone finds a nice brushed aluminum kit, let me know...

ewwwww - wood trim in a G35? These guys might as well add the wood paneling exterior while they're at it.

Re: Interior Work

I have partially installed a "real" brushed aluminum kit. The problem with the material is that the finish is *very* prone to scratching. The edges of the trim are not beveled and somewhat sharp.

Re: Interior Work

Was the kit installed at the dealership or did you or have someone install it? Or did you purchase it at ExoticWooddash.com? I just purchased a full 21 piece kit for my G35c. They were out of stock. They have to make it and it will take a few days. Would you recommend it or not? I also have a 04 Maxima Silver/Black SE w/Elite package. It has brushed Aliminum and skuffs easy. Exoticwooddash.com had two options: Carbon Fiber or real aliminum. I opted for the real brushed aliminum. would you recommend cancelling the order?

Re: Interior Work

I did the install myself. I ordered it from www.wooddash.com. I can't give an overwhelming recommendation for them. They were supposed to send me a replacement piece for a part that was cut too small (the ashtray cover on the original 6MT console-I have since upgraded to the new armrest console). That was in April. Emails have gone unanswered.
I don't know how many manufacturers there are of these kits, but this one is by B&I (If I remember correctly). Anyway, they also make a lot of the wood kits out there.
As I said before, the finish is very delicate. It will scratch by just looking at it. The edges are rough and somewhat sharp. If you can live with that...
I do like the parts I installed, it breaks up the darkness and the plastic of the interior.

Re: Interior Work

Whats the specs on your coupe? I live in Elmhurst, but you wouldn't know it by the amount of time I spend in Naperville. I drive a Black/Black 6MT with the Aero Package and would like to hear any of your experiances with Infiniti of Lisle, which is where I assume you are having any of your work done since its the only dealer around. I have been getting the run around on my transmissions rattling noise and its just pi$sing me off.

No, I'm not. I've yet to see ANY G35 Coupe with wood trim.

Re: Interior Work

My G35 is Silver w/Black interior. NAV/SAT/Aero w/body kit/tinted windows. Basically all options with the exception of performance tires. I decided not to go with the performance tires b/c I wanted all season tires. However, I realized later on I could have gotten the 18" rims with all season tires. Now I am in the market for new rims. Any recommendations?

Believe it or not, I go to Motor Works. The service is excellent. I have purchased multiple BMW's and Saabs from them over the years. I have a habit of selling my cars every 1 to 2 years and getting new vehicles.

I justed ordered Brushed Aliminum 21 piece flat dash kit from Exocticwooddash.com for my G35. I saw another G35 with the kit and it looks awesome.
