Doggie proofing the g?
Re: Doggie proofing the g?
There is a nice small dog carrier out on the market now that is made of soft fabrics and a foam core, not plactic/metal. It sits up high already and has a place to buckle it in. It also folds out and doubles as a pet bed if you need one of those as well. You can find those at places like PetSmart and PetCo. They aren't 'expensive' but not 'cheap', either. It is cheaper than repairing a leather seat, though :-).

Re: Doggie proofing the g?
I don't allow the dog in my G, but in my wife's SUV (AKA the USS Hairball), she has this weatherproof, textured cover that goes over the whole backseat and pretty much shields it from slobber, hair, chewings off snacks, etc. We even feed the dog scraps while on road trips and grease, etc doesn't penetrate the cover.
I think we got the cover out of a dog products catalog. It's well fitted, matches the gray leather in the car and is easy to install/remove. It also shakes off/hoses off easily when removed from the vehicle, taking the mess with it.
When we have it out of the car and have the headrests back on the backseats, you can hardly tell a dog rides in the car - and I'm a picky SOB - It's gotta be pretty clean if it doesn't bother me..
