VDC - is it on?

Ok, of course the button is set to the "on" position. But how does it feel when it kicks in? I was taking a turn yesterday and all of a sudden I heard this *bump* and it felt like my tire (notice I didn't say "tires") slid an inch or something and then there was the small "thunk" noise - was that the VDC kicking in? I didn't slide out or lose control or anything... weird...

Put your foot into it hard enough to spin the tires (not in a corner) and you'll notice the car bog as it cuts power and the "slip" light will flash, indicating that the VDC is working at that moment.

The VDC defaults to ON everytime you start the car. Likewise, if you press the VDC button you'll see an indicator light on the instrument cluster that reads "VDC off".

I noticed it for the first time after I got my exhaust changed. Its like hitting the redline. It cuts power from the ignition.
